Skifflicious brunch..!
Probably the nicest time you can have with a load of best bacon, local eggs, scallops and black pudding – and a dedicated team of skiffies ( skivvies???) cooking and serving it all up with love!
Why a fundraising brunch? Well a lot of skill at low tech. delicious breakfastmaking had been garnered by certain members of the Coigach Lass crews on the pre-race mornings round the campsites and gardens we found ourselves in at the skiff racing events in various delightful coastal communities around Scotland. It was to be put to good use!
Young and . . well,
older – tucking in to the
lovely grub! Joe, Alice, and Abi left -
Collette and boys
There were lounge lizards looking as if they were brunching at the Savoy Grill rather than the Achiltibuie village hall….. Suave, Andy!
Then there were the trenchermen!
See Chris’s very kind comments on the whole event (top right – click on latest comments. And Anne won a prize in the raffle too!
Chris on the left, with Harry and Brian
right.
…trencherwomen!
And if you wanted a bit of peace you could always make something cool with Lego!
Stan, Gregor and Max being creative.
But it’s always a different story in the Kitchen…… Who is this wagging the finger in a fetching apron? Could it be Mark – race manager? Chill. It’s just the bowl of Hollandaise he’s beating up!
And there’s Alan (below left)- champion eggs man - to match Mark I on Hollandaise and Mark D on BLTs and Spanish Ommelette Tortilla! Ole!
Mark D below centre.
Elspeth D in top kitchen form too (left) and Dan ‘The Scallop’ Oarbreaker on Surf n Turf black pudding and scallops…dived by his own fair hand!

Gerry (left) and Ish (right) ‘front of house’ …
Pancakes made to order!
Ish’s fab muffins on the table (!)
Grethe on the ‘door’ with menu
Julia takes the order from Mo…
The raffle is drawn…the last customer has left and the skiffies, wiping their brows, descend on a groaning table of delicious, well deserved brunch!
We made at least £500. Thank you to all the skiffies who donated and made food, to everyone who donated generous prizes to the raffle…you have helped to make new oars/spare oars happen.
How relaxed can you get?????????

tip top – great photos – great day. Will have to do some serious rowing to work off the pile of eggs benedict, black pud and Ish’s fab muffins.
